St. Louis, Missouri – June 12, 2017 – Belden Inc., a global leader in signal transmission solutions for mission-critical applications, is excited to announce its expanded focus on HDBaseT, now providing solutions and warranties to ensure that HDBaseT installations are reliable, safe and high performing.
To educate the industry and promote successful HDBaseT installations, Belden just became the first cabling manufacturer with HDBaseT Authorized Trainers. After successfully completing the HDBaseT Alliance’s HDBaseT Train the Trainer course, 28 Belden employees received HDBaseT Authorized Trainer certification in May 2017. These professionals are not only trained on HDBaseT ecosystems, architecture, best practices and interoperability, but they are also qualified to provide HDBaseT training to other industry professionals.
Belden’s 2183R and 2183P 4K Ultra HD Media Cables have also been certified for HDBaseT usage with a Power over HDBaseT (PoH) rating. When power is run on a twisted-pair cable, the amount of heat generated inside the cable increases as well – especially in cable bundles – which can cause safety and performance issues. This UL certification ensures a futureproof solution to meet increasing demands and safety requirements while providing power over a four-pair shielded cable. Belden is now one of the first cable manufacturers certified by UL to safely bring uncompressed video, audio, 100BaseT Ethernet, control signals and power-delivery technology up to 100W together onto a single cable.
“Belden believes that HDBaseT offers many advantages, including easier installation, reduced installation costs, equipment-location flexibility and high-quality signals,” says Belden Director of Sales and Channel, Broadcast and AV, Elizabeth Stephan. “We’re doing all we can to ensure that we’re improving the performance and safety of Power over HDBaseT applications so that installers and end-users are ready for the demands of a high-performing AV installation.”
“We are proud to welcome Belden as one of our Authorized Trainers to disseminate the optimal way of installing HDBaseT per the Alliance’s recommendations. As a leading cabling manufacturer, the UL and HDBaseT PoH certification guarantee that its products meet the highest industry performance and safety standards,” says Ariel Sobelman, president, HDBaseT Alliance.
Belden also offers a first-of-its-kind HDBaseT System warranty, which ensures that the installed cabling system will support HDBaseT transmission for 25 years, including an extended component warranty and labor coverage for PartnerAlliance AV Installers to support this warranty.
